Old pagodas on the plains of Bagan.
Alan Moore
The ancient walled city Bagan is located in a plain in central Burma along the banks of the Ayeyarwaddy (Irrawaddy) river. Most of the some 2000 pagodas and temples are in various stages of decay and were built in the 11th to 13th centuries AD when Bagan was the seat of the Myanmar dynasty.
